Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.
Ray Chapman, used to say that the 125-grain Magnum load’s almost magical stopping power was the only reason to load .357 instead of .38 Special +P ammunition into a fighting revolver chambered for the Magnum round. I agree. - Massad Ayoob

again...if they only made it in blued, or blackened stainless.....adds cost for me if I got one, since I'd have to have it custom-done.

Knowing how people push the RedHawk with "Ruger only" loads I don't see any reason why it shouldn't. Furthermore I can't see why 460 Rowland and possibly 45 Win mag wouldn't also chamber and work.  :cool

A 45 colt Redhawk has long been on my bucket list of guns.  And this one looks really nice.

The Redhawk only 45 colt loads are quite amazing.  I have never been a 44 magnum fan, and this would fill the need for a big bore wheel gun.

Guess I better start prepping the wife.

How about .45 Winmag? Underwood makes a pretty vicious load.

The extractor groove on the ACP and WinMag are different enough that you may need modified or custom moon clips.

I am usually not huge on wheel guns, but that would be a damn handy little revolver. It would be plenty large enough for hogs etc, and you could load some light wadcutters for pest control.

Next thing you know they'll be producing the GP 100 in 10mm / .40 S&W with moon clips.  Wouldn't THAT be just awful?   :cool

Why not?  S&W did it (at least the .40 S&W portion) with the model 646.  They only made about 1300 though, if the S&W forum folks are right (http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1961-1980/77485-40-cal-revolver.html, sixth post).  Make it a full 10mm capable gun, and they might sell a few more than that.

An 8-shot .357 magnum (full-moon clip) version of this revolver would be pretty slick also.....I wonder if there is enough room for 7 10mm/.40S&W?
