Tell them to never apologize for having good taste.

If either one of them uses this line on me, you are off my Christmas list!!! :)

Agreed.
They sound like a fine pair of young women off to a very good start in life, congrats!

Thank You!  They are two of my favorite people in the world, and my best hunting partners.  I made the mistake of letting them shoot my Kimber Pro Carry, and they loved it, so it's really my own fault they want their own lightweight compact.  I'm just glad they don't want a Les Baer or something like that!

Thank you.  Thank you very much.  I have two granddaughters who will be graduating high school in 2018, and they have hinted (strongly) that a pair of these would be THE PERFECT graduation gifts.  In fact, they sent me the link to this thread, to show that they are not alone in their opinion.
So a pair of 16? year old girls not only read WTA, but quote it when making a point? :hmm

    I am impressed. :thumbup1

Absolutely.  Whether guns, or food, or anything else... Quality is what sets one apart from the rest.

    That's a very good point.

Anyone looking for a reasonably priced 1911 should read this thread start to finish.

Do we forget that cops were primarily still using 6 Shot Revolvers well through the mid 80's? It wasn't until after 1986 that most departments then relented and went to autos.
Capacity wasn't really an issue then... and honestly really it's not even an issue now.
Ray Chapman, used to say that the 125-grain Magnum load’s almost magical stopping power was the only reason to load .357 instead of .38 Special +P ammunition into a fighting revolver chambered for the Magnum round. I agree. - Massad Ayoob

Got the first one on layaway at my local shop.  Will start collecting the aftermarket stuff (grips, sights, ambi safeties) as soon as I get it out of hock, and run some rounds through it to make sure there's no major issues.

You all do realize, I hope, that this is gonna get expensive?

    Not to us.   :clap

(Truthfully, though, I wish I was in a position to do what you're doing with them.  Mildly jealous I am.)

Everything is paid off, I've got a really good job, that pays way more than I'm worth, and, as The Boss points out, I've got more money than good sense.  They're good kids, and I'm really determined that they be able to protect themselves when they get out of my AO.  Thus, guns, training, and all the peripheral crap that I can control.

I can't protect them forever, but I can make sure that they can protect themselves.
