Interesting Glock...
« on: August 29, 2015, 09:33:26 pm »
I picked this up at the local pawn shop a couple days ago. Paid $250 for it. It's an early Glock 31 because it doesn't have a rail like a Gen 2 but it's a 3 pin like the Gen 3. Anyone have any ideas?

    A picture would be helpful.

My first guess would be a transitionary 17 or 22 frame, with a 31 top end.  The gen 3 was introduced well before the 357 Sig.

Do the numbers on the slide and frame match?  Unless they do, I would have to stick to my previous theory.

The serial number matches on frame, barrel and slide.

Interesting and unexpected.  I wonder if this was a pistol ordered by an agency when they transitioned to 357 Sig, but was adamant that they did not want the fingergrooves and light rail of the Gen 3 Glocks.  If so, that would have to be a fairly large order, for Glock to cater to that sort of request.

There was a transition number of pistols like that, variant pin holes etc.  A buddy has a G19 version.  I don't know all the details but that was a factory process.

I have one as well.  A Model 23, Gen2/three pin.

My interest stems from my understanding that the 357 Sig variants were introduced after the Gen3 models.  Or did Glock produce Gens 2 and 3 concurrently, as they do now with the 3 and 4?  :shrug

I'm probably going to try and call Glock tomorrow and see if I can get some info.

Well, if you don't want it...I could give you what you paid for it.  I won't even ask you to pay shipping or anything.  Teasing.

But if you decide to get rid of it, I have seen people ask more for Lorcin .25 acp here in AK
    Alaska

Sorry Kaso just noticed your reply. All they could tell me over the phone is that it was a transitional model.
