Technically, in keeping with the intent of the question. Nothing. Hard to carry while in a suit and suspenders.

However. Right next to my chair in the lunch bag, a Sig P232 with one spare mag.

Wallet, smartphone, earbuds, keyring on a carabiner.

I work in a non-permissive environment and don't have a pocket piece. But now that I'm home, there are two folding knives on the shelf directly in front of me, another folder and a push daggar in a drawer to my immediate left, and an AR-15 behind me.

George, even you yourself have said that "wood has soul", so why do you have the old black rubber grips for your carry piece?

They make so many different types of wooden grip. Surely they have something that could fill your needs just as well, if not better, then the current set up?

Perhaps I am also leaving out that Ruger does not have as many grip options as Smith & Wesson

That "old black rubber grip" sure looks like a Hogue Monogrip to me. I can't speak for George, but I found that grip to be a very good choice for the SP, and used it for years. It's inexpensive, provides a sure, secure grip, and gives better control when handling a small gun that barks big than the originals. It works especially well for those of us with large hands.

Ruger doesn't really have to offer more options. Take a look at what's available for the SP101 at midwayusa.com -- lots of choices from Hogue, and from all the other makers as well.

You are right to question... And as for the answer, I have no real excuse other than I've not found a set of wood grips that I've truly loved enough to spend the money on. I don't want to order off the internet because I want to see what I'm actually buying when it comes to wood... and the ones I've seen in person have all looked like crap or felt like crap. I'll get the right set when I find the right set.

Which is why I am content to be patient. The Monogrip is amazing for it's comfort. But it's a bit longer than I'd like. I wish they had a Mono Boot Grip or something.
So when I do replace this grip with wood, eventually, that wood grip is going to have to be good. Very good.

Off body carry in my pack has a Glock 19, four spare mags, Bark River Bravo 1, Bark River Gunny, Spyderco Tenacious, Spyderco Endura, Leatherman Wave, Swiss-tech tool, another Streamlight flashlight, a Todd Foster sap, and a first aid and basic 5 C's survival kit, along with the usual odds and ends that gets me made fun of by coworkers, because any time somebody needs something they ask me if I have it in my pack, and I usually do.

I roll heavy.

Do you use a fanny pack or a Maxpedition sling bag? I am guessing that you spend a lot of time in the great outdoors at your job?

J-frame .38Spl, 2 speed strips of Hornady Critical Defense, 5.11 pen light, Suunto Vector, paracord bracelet (home made, of course). I took off my work clothes and didn't fully transfer everything. Phone is next to me. CRKT pen on the desk. Knives everywhere.

5.11 Rush 24 pack. It holds a lot of gear. And yeah, I'm a truck driver, so I'm all over the state, and sometimes live out of hotel rooms for a week at a time. Gotta have all my crap with me when I'm on the road, just in case.

I spend a lot of time on the road, too. If I counted what I keep in the truck, or even just in the Get Home Bag I keep in it, we'd be having a much different discussion.

Oh yeah. My truck is that way, too. After a couple of times being stranded out in the middle of nowhere, you learn to keep a lot of spare everything close to hand in the vehicle.
