Springfield GI Milspec extractor replacement question.

The boring title says it all. I've had the gun for almost ten years. It's my on again, off again self-customization job. Today at the range it just quit pulling empties. A quick check showed me that the internal extractor broke. Ten years of hard use and tough love for this brute has finally yielded a broken part. Where do I go for a replacement? Better yet, which of the extractors listed on midway USA do I fit to the gun? Eventually the beast will get a new slide, but that is not currently feasible. Help and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'd get the Wilson Combat extractor. You can find it at Brownell's or MidwayUSA. I replaced the stock one in my GI MilSpec as soon as I got it and kept the stock extractor as a spare. Same with the firing pin.

First Shirt:
I always fit a new extractor to any 1911-pattern pistol I own. This list includes Colts, Springers, Kimbers and now, Rugers.  Mostly, they languish in the range bag, because they don't break.  But when they do, the gun is dead in the water.

If you broke one, get two.  That way the new one won't ever break!
