In the series of spare parts needs I wanted to add our beloved AK rifles. This one is very simple because it's a simple rifle.

#1 Recoil spring (if the gun has one then it gets lots of use and is automaticly on our list)

#2 Trigger kit. Tapco has a very nice trigger parts kit but it doesn't include springs. A hammer and disconnector spring will top this list off. A spring kit is available at K-Var.com. It includes 1 Recoil Spring, 1 hammer trigger Spring, 1 Mag catch spring, 1 extractor spring, 1 Disconnector Spring, 1 plunger pin spring, and 1 pivot pins retainer spring. 

#3 If anything else wears out any time soon you are abusing the weapon.

I did say it would be simple. Next is the H&K series of rifles...not so simple.

How good is this tapco trigger group.  You also said it doesn't come wit the springs?  Where may one purchase these springs?  You were right, it was simple.

AK's need spare parts? I thought they just wore barrels out after 10,000,000 rounds On a serious note all the springs are specific AK springs except the disconnector spring. I got all of mine from a spring assortment I bought at HOME DEPOT. I've used some of the springs in AR's aswell. They work flawlessly for thousands of rounds on both rifles. As a rule of thumb a spring is a spring as long as the deminsions are the same even if you have to cut to length and you check to see that the tension is atleast close. Oh yeah I've taken two springs and wound them inside each other to get the tension right a couple of times and again they are still working thousand of rounds and years later but I always fire the first 100 rounds through any rifle I Jerry Rig. If I think it's a safety issue I don't do it at all.

Alright, I need to clear this up, can you buy a legit Russian AK with funswitch from before 1986?

If you can find one for sale, it's legal in your state, you can afford it, you can pass the background checks, etc; then yes you can buy it.

They aren't cheap though.  There weren't a lot of them being imported back then.     The last one I saw was a short barreled model for $10,000.  That was at least 7 or 8 years ago too.   

So...what happened to the H&K series of rifles that are supposed to be next?  It's past due for that list.

That's not a problem.  Just shoot a random peasant counter-revolutionary lackey spy collaborator at least once a month, you're good.

That manuver is called a "kick start" and all is required is to place boot to cocking piece an imagine that you are starting a dirt bike
