Oh, and I bet most of you didn't hear about the incident in Southern-California yesterday afternoon, where some dude let loose 30somethign rounds into the air at a mall parking lot.

I don't go to the movies often. I haven't been to a theater since around the Aurora shooting. I've been thinking about going to see The Hobbit, and if I do, I'll be loaded for bear. I'm not dealing with any of this copy-cat crap.

What do you mean by loaded for bear?  I know what you literally mean, but specifically?  Gonna step it up to 10mm or something?

I can't speak for anyone else, but to me being loaded for bear would mean carrying not one but two spare magazines for my G19, probably carrying a backup gun or two (Kel Tec P3AT and/or a .357 snub) and making sure I've been to confession recently.

There's a big issue going on that is the media doing what they do (covering the news) and giving these evil and sick people the gumption to do the same. By putting these instances in the spotlight, I believe firmly that its in fact leading others to copycat.
If (but more likely when) a new gun ban goes into effect, we will still have these tragedies. There will still be guns involved, legal or otherwise. But also knives and tragically so explosives. An evil individual will find a way to carry out their plan.
I can only hope that an armed citizen is there to help stop the threat. Maybe then we can bounce the ball back in our favor letting the country again realize that guns also SAVE lives.

Not just yet. I need a better 10mm to carry. And unfortunately this state doesn't allow a BUG, so it's gonna come down to carrying lots of magazines. I won't bother with the SP101. Minimum P228 with 15+1 in the gun and another 2 mags, 28rds min. Maybe even one of my 20rounders.

For me, always loaded for bear.  Para P16-40 converted to 10mm with 15+1 in the gun and a 17 round magazine in my jacket. ;)

I took a short class last year from "Super Dave" Harrington and noticed what he does for himself.  I specifically remember him emphatically stating "I am not going to die because I ran out of rounds!"  He carries at least 2 Glock mags on top of what's in the gun.  Just as a point of interest, he goes for 9mm since you get more rounds in a mag.

Its the crazies doing there thing because they think the world is going to end on the 21st. The 20th and 21st would be excellent days to stay the hell home and call in sick.

A woman I know at work approached me yesterday and asked for help to get her CWL and further training.  She got mugged and injured in a parking lot a few years ago, and last week she pulled over to help a guy who'd just rolled his car and he attacked her (fortunately she was able to fend him off and get away).  There's a lot of craziness and more violent crime going around if nothing else (central Florida).

I plan on ordering two 3-paks of Witness 10mm mags. The website shows them at $75 so that's $150 for 6 mags. That's $25 per mag and not super horrible. Especially considering they sell singles for $40.

But if you know any place that can do better than $25 lemme know. I'm sure Witness 10mm mags aren't as much in demand as well, pretty much all other pistol magazines ;)

And no. I don't have a Witness 10mm yet. But I will...
