North Korea is 13 hours ahead of us........
« on: April 14, 2017, 08:51:02 PM »
so that means it is already the "Day of the Sun".

What's it going to be? A nuke test? Another ballistic missile launch? Both? or maybe an artillery barrage fired at the almost 25 million residents of Seoul?

    What's this?

Is this a part of their eastern calendar, or did the corpulent little bastard declare a new holiday?

I agree with Kaso. What is this and what does it mean? Just reading the context clues, you make it sound like it is a holiday, escept instead of giving Hallmark cards, there is militaristic flexing. I can't say I'm a fan of that coming from North Korea.

IIRC it is the anniversary of the first fat crazy bastard, grandpa Kim, taking power over there in NoK.  The current fat crazy bastard has been making noise about showing his power on the "Day of the Sun".  Or some other s___tles.

We just got done dropping a YUGE bomb on some CHUDS who have been a global annoyance (ISIS). Do these a______s know what we'll do to them if they make a dedicated attack against us? I mean, Trump has some pretty small hands to compensate for, there's no telling what he'll do. The North Koreans really shouldn't give him an excuse  :coffee.

It ain't gonna be as easy as it looks, trust me.  I was a Korean linguist/intel analyst for a long time, and they are not going to be an easy target.  Doable?  Yeah, eventually.  Easy?  No way!  They have gun emplacements dug in all over the place, and the military is going to make the Japanese of WW II look like a bunch of pansies.  They will make you bleed for every inch of ground. Not to mention the number of "improvised" airfields available, and Seoul is only minutes away, by MiG 2X (whichever version they are running now).

That said, if the South Koreans decide to take it seriously, the ROK Marines will be eating dinner in Pyongyang, and breakfast at the Yalu River.  But the butcher's bill is gonna be horrendous!

Not to make light of the butcher's bill, but the main source of inertia keeping China and the West from dealing with them has been the banker's bill.  After you reunite the countries, you have to drag 1940s (likely most of the country is almost that far behind, if not farther) NK into the 21st century.  That won't be fun.  No one wants to deal with that, so they've been passing passing the buck for decades.

I never knew your specialty was Korea.

I was always told that this time around, if the south and north Koreans had a fight, that this time the south would walk through the north like s___ through a goose. To my understanding, the south still remembers what happened in the 1950's and some of them are just itching to pay back the favour.

So, to your knowledge, is any of that true?

One thing that I learned recently, is that the Korean peninsula has a Lot of people living on it.  It's packed.  Most any strike or counterstrike on the South is going to result in major casualties.  I don't know about the northern part, but I am not under the impression that it is sparsely populated either.

Interesting... there are two different Russian websites reporting there are Russian and Chinese aircraft carriers heading towards the Gulf of Mexico.

While I am not privy to Top Secret info, last I remembered, China only had one aircraft carrier.

I know the one Russia just sent to the MidEast almost didn't make it back (through nobodies fault but theirs), but do they have more than one?

There are also reports of Chinese troop buildup on the North Korean border.

This point was raised in a discussion on Bill Whittle's YouTube channel.
It also covers the Chinese troops build up.

Well, unless they intend to pull something at the eleventh hour the day seems to have gone off largely as a North Korean holiday should - unnoticed and unobserved by the rest of the world.

Am I allowed to say that the missile was made by the Sum Tin Wong rocket company?
