Emergency Three Person 1-year Food Storage Pail Kit

36 six gallon pails, containing 10,800 servings total in 288 sealed pouches

This equals 37.5 servings per pouch.  I hope this is a misprint, otherwise you are eating one item for four days straight figuring roughly nine servings per day.   Also a 30 day manufactures warranty on a product they claim is shelf stable for 20 years.  Not to mention...Due to the perishable nature of food items, returns are not accepted by state law.

Based on Overstock's description and my complete lack of knowledge of the brand.  I definitely won't be buying this, even though I am kinda in the market due to the fact that all our groceries come by plane.  I keep thinking that some freeze dried type of food would make a good addition to what we already keep on hand.

I bought about a 3 months supply from Ready Made Resources.

    https://www.readymaderesources.com/cart/freeze-dried-dehydrated-misc-foods-32-60-off-on-mountain-house-food/mountain-house-free-shipping-32-60-off-our-summer-mountain-house-sale/cat_201.html

The company listed in the Overstock link is a Utah company.  Mostly likely it is repackaged Oregon Freeze Dry producted.  OFD is the main Freeze Dry provider and has Mountain House listed as their main brand but other companies that you hear on the radio are from OFD.

From what I have seen, been told and heard, Mountain House is not a great product by any means. Can and will go bad due to oxygen levels? That is just what I have seen several places and reports across the media world.

The linked is called Augason Farms.  Have no clue.  They also have Lindon Farms, which I've heard of before, in a positive light.  It's also twice as much.  Since they have a few other brands, it'd be nice to hear a bit about them too.

I love Mountain House. It's good stuff. All of it really comes from the same place.
