SHOT SHOW Aggregation
« on: January 23, 2015, 09:42:02 am »
I haven't seen any thread on this, tbh I don't like the new Tapatalk all that much & might have missed it.  But post new, videos & pics here.  Seen anything cool or groovy (or ridiculous, it is SHOT SHOW after all) here.

On my phone, so I can't post bids, but Springfield is bringing out a Range Officer Champion .45 and the RO Compact in 9mm.

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/01/22/new-mp-44-sturmgewehr-rifles-coming-us/

STG-44 reproductions are coming, apparently.  Not cheaply.

    Quote
The MP-44 will be offered in 7.92×33 (8mm Kurz) only, and will accept original MP-44 magazines. The MP-38 is a closed-bolt conversion and will be sold as a pistol, with a stock fixed in the folded position (but repairable for folks who was to file SBR papers for them). Exact prices are not yet determined, but the MP-44 will likely be around the $5,000 mark. A lot of money to be sure, but an awesome opportunity to have the rifle that is truly the inspiration behind today’s entire combat rifle concept. Stay tuned for a first look at the guns when they arrive here in the States! - See more at: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/01/22/new-mp-44-sturmgewehr-rifles-coming-us/#sthash.DcY1JAl2.dpuf

Didn't someone make some of those a few years ago?  Maybe in 7.62x39?   I remember them being super expensive.

re: STG-44, yep they have been announced before, but I am not sure if they were actually sold. I remember looking at one at the NRA Annual meeting in Louisville, and that's been over 5 years ago.

    Things I have found neat:

Polymer K31 charging clip - I think this is a great idea, as the original cardboard and tin clips are getting hard (and expensive!) to find

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2015/01/21/polymer-k31-charger-clips/

Ruger Bearcat with adjustable sights. An idea so good, you wonder why it took so long:

    Mossberg MVP scout rifle.

I am picking up one of these from BullsEyeCamera.com  Seems cool and will be very handy for long range shooting.  Actually, handy for close range shooting as well.
Retail is $649.  Dealer cost is like $100 less or something like that.  $30 for a 2 year warranty covering accidental shooting of equipment.

The Kalashnikov pattern appears to be taking off. Geissele triggers, Magpul furniture and mags, I think I saw several new optics mounts and muzzle devices, as well as a handful of rifles that are (or at least are claimed to be) completely made in America.

I just might have to get myself an AK...

SWEET!!!!!   I wanted some for my K31.  I found 3 cardboard clips for $5 each and snagged them SUPER fast.   I don't use them though because I don't want to damage them  :cool   They sure do charge it fast though,  fastest/easiest stripper clips I've ever used.

I think this SHOT SHOW was quite bland. However I do like Springfield's new Range Officer Compact in 9mm.....

Nice looking pistol.  I've been a fan of the Range Officer since the first one came out.  They are a lot of pistol for the money and at least on the first ones, they were very well fitted and had decent triggers.

    Then there's this:

    http://soldiersystems.net/2015/01/25/shot-show-standard-manufacturing/

    Quote
Following in the footsteps of Kel-Tec and UTAS, Standard Manufacturing has developed their own bullpup pump action shotgun with dual magazine tubes, however unlike the former two shotguns which feature a single barrel that feeds from two tubes, the DP-12 features double barrels. Two shells are chambered with each pump, and the trigger must be pulled twice to fire both barrels. Each tube is capable of holding 7 2 3/4″ shells, for a total capacity of 14+2. The DP-12 is machined from a solid billet of aircraft grade 7075 aluminum, and it features a spring loaded recoil pad.

Distributed exclusively by Cheaper Than Dirt!

    It's called the DP-12.  Um...

I heard about the bans, I just didn't expect Kalashnikov to start production Stateside. I actually have to admit that I kind of expected them to pull an H&K and tell the US that "You suck and we hate you," or however the heck you say it in Russian.

IllinoisThere’s a story about a turtle and a scorpion. Scorpion is stranded on a river bank. Turtle sees this and asks Scorpion to get on his back and he’ll take him across the river. Scorpion gets on Turtle’s back and they go into the river. When they’re about halfway across, Scorpion stings Turtle. As Turtle is sinking, knowing they’re both going to die, he asks Scorpion "Why did you sting me, we’re both going to die?" and Scorpion says "It’s not my fault; it’s what I am."
