Pay It Forward/Karma Thread
« on: August 16, 2011, 12:48:20 am »
WETA needs a Pay It Forward thread.  Basic idea - list items you've got you don't need anymore (I know we all have holsters, grips etc at the back of the closet/safe we're never gonna use again).  It's a,good excuse to clean out some old stuff and make sure somebody gets some use out of it.  Now don't be afraid to offer up stuff even if nothing offered catches your eye.  The idea is just some goodwill & getting some gear in use. I hope this becomes a circulating thing - I put something up now - maybe somebody's got some gear I could use a week or 3 from now.

Now I'm not gonna say its gotta be strictly gun stuff - but you start offering up my little ponies and, well you know what's gonna happen.

Basically first "I'll take it" gets it.  Addresses exchanged via PM or email.  Shipping is pretty open.  In most Karma occasions the giver covers it - but if unusual size/weight is a concern make a note when you post the item.

Take advantage folks - we're a tight group on WTA.  But don't get stingy either.  Go look in your safe and tell me you want to keep everything ;-)

I wish I'd own guns long enough to be able to offer something and play this.

Don't have much in my junk drawer but I can offer a service. If you have a busted or chipped knife you no longer need PM me and I'll send you my address, as they get done I'll put up a picture and will send them to the next WTA'er that needs it.

Love the idea.  I know a couple other forums that have this as well. I'll start by offering a set of checkered (not double diamond, just checkered) ambi cut 1911 grips from Les Baer. I'm sure I've got more stuff somewhere.
I'm not saying you should use an M1A for home defense, but I'm also not saying you shouldn't.

I really don't have much. I doubt I'll have a 3" N frame anytime soon, what with my next wheelgun being a Ruger 2.5" Alaskan. I'd rather have a holster that was designed for the gun it was made for. So I'll put up a Don Hume open top, black leather for a 3" N frame. I didn't get much use out of it at all. Looks pretty darn new.

I have been looking for a holster for an N frame snubby.
I will take it and dig thru my stuff for something to offer up.

It's yours Jim. Don't worry about being able to get me something. Just knowing someone cool has an Astra Terminator is paying it forward enough for me.  ;D

I've got one or two shotgun shell bandoleers that were cool to me like 15 years ago.  It wears like a sash and holds like 20-30 rounds.  Don't remember exactly.  The problem with them is that they don't stay in one place.  You almost need to sew a loop in to connect it to your belt for some tension.

    Looks similar to the following.

I have a buttstock for a Winchester Defender 20 Gauge shotgun. Black polymer, nearly new. I replaced the original with a collapsible pistol grip.

I don't know why anyone would want it, but I've got it if you do.

I've got a hard nylon thumb break holster for a full size 1911. It's cheap but worked rather well.  For some reason I traded in my 1911.  :hide

I just sniffed around in the man room, I found another set of 1911 grips. These are double diamond rosewood, non-ambi. But, these are slim grips...not standard thickness. So you'll need slim bushings and screws to go with 'em, which I don't have.

Also got the Beretta 92 service pack from Wolff, still unopened. If memory serves, it contains every spring for the whole gun.
I'm not saying you should use an M1A for home defense, but I'm also not saying you shouldn't.

I only have one of this style.  I thought I had two but I was mistaken.  Matt hasn't sent me his address yet.  If he decides to pass, you'll be the next in line.

I do however have one that is this style.  If I remember correctly, the rounds fit rather tight.  Not sure if it's for a 12 gauge or maybe a 20 gauge.  I'll get that one out of the box tonight and test it again.
