Vltor Modpod opinions
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:53:42 PM »
I really like this idea. http://www.vltor.com/modpod.htm

They aren't cheap and are probably a little slower to deploy than a Harris bipod but speed isn't a priority for me. The fact that the barrel "hangs" below the vertex rather than atop it is something that very much appeals to me.

Is the Vltor modpod the only one of it's kind or is ther another manufacturer that has a similar product?

It probably doesn't count, but the FAMAS has a bipod like that.

I've seen...well, a LOT of firearm accessories. So far I haven't really seen anything quite like it.

TangoDown's bipod looks like it uses the exact same legs, but it seems to mount them in the conventional manner.

Indeed, if you'll read VLTOR's product description they use TangoDown bipod legs.

Yeah, I definitely think this is THE way to go as far as bi-pods are concerned. They just make too much sense to me.
