So I received my new rangefinder in the mail yesterday. After some initial "testing", I'm impressed. Price is around $500 but can be found anywhere between $400-$500.

Ranged as close as 5 yards.
Ranged a flying flock of Geese/Ducks starting at 300 yards and followed them until they were at 878 yards out.
Ranged a wind flag at 994 Yards.
Ranged a Bus at 2566 Yards.
So far I am impressed for the price. I paid $410 and compared to the $2000 Vectronix Terrapin, it does what I need. The 7x on the KILO is a big difference compared to the 5x on the Terrapin.
One additional feature the KILO has is the ability to take 4 readings per second. It will continuously range as long as you hold down the button. This came in very handy when trying to range the Geese/Ducks. There is no place to screw in a tripod since this is designed to be handheld but with the contiuous beam you may not need it.
For the casual shooter, this will consitently range out to 1200 yards without any problem. My next test is to take it out to see how easily it can range a 20 inch steel target at 1000 yards. Then to range some fur at distance.
I should also add that the KILO is smaller than I imagined even though people told me it was small. Some say it's around the size of a pack of cigaretts. You could even compare it to a small digital camera.
