Sig Kilo 2400 ABS
« on: November 03, 2016, 05:51:49 PM »
Here's one piece of equipment that I am excited for.  It's essentially the next gen range finder by Sig.  This version will have Applied Ballistics built in.  I anticipate that Sig will also offer a version without ABS.  This version is supposed to have a better laser and will also factor in atmospheric conditions while having the scan capabilities.

I think the plain jane version is supposed to MSRP at $800.  Not sure how much the one with ABS will be.  Rumor has it that it will be priced close to the G7 rangefinder.

Just found out more about this offering.  MSRP is supposed to be $1800.  MAP will be $1500.  Who knows what street price will end up being.  They missed out on teh sweet spot of $900-$1100 as I know many guys hat would drop that in a heartbeat.  But $1500, people asking why.  It's comparable the Gunwerks G7 BR2 in terms of features but the price point is higher than I would have expected.

So what do you get for $1500?  Besides the features mentioned previously, you also a Molle bag (whoopie), the previously mentioned Wind meter for your phone ($40 value and probably not the Bluetooth version so Apple users will have to buy a separate one), LRI Tripod mount and the pouch.

I'm not very excited.  A little underwhelmed.

However, I did find out that there will be the Sig Kilo 2200MR that is replacing the Kilo 2000.  Pretty much the same features as the 2000 but will have a Milling Reticle.  Hopefully this means cross hairs rather than the circle.  I don't know much else about this new product but that's all I could glean from the description at my distributors.
