Radio pouches:
« on: July 14, 2016, 11:17:04 PM »
Well I figured I'd get on here and see if there was any members here who may be able to give insight before I start tossing money around for no reason:

Just got issued a Motorola CP185 handheld for the fire department 4.72"H by 2.28"W by 1.48"D.

The old radio was a lot bigger and had a good leather holster that went on my belt securely.   The belt clip that comes on the radio works fine for most the rest of the guys on the department.  But I wear 1.75" heavy leather belts and the clip is too small to securely ride 100% on the belt without wanting to pop off.

The holsters for it are a leather case with the same size clip on the back...... :banghead  Tried using a swivel mounted holster for a MagOne but the radio is too top-heavy and rolls over and unclips itself.

So I'm looking at getting a MOLLE universal radio pouch and using that.  And was wondering if anyone in particular had used one and could recommend one?    Most appear to be made for radios 6"+ higher.

I'll try a few when I get the chance, was just thinking someone may have come across something that worked well.

Dunno, but let me know - as a Shift Commander i cheat and carry my radio in my back pocket. Probably should get a radio holster, too.

No dimensions but "Looks good by the interweb picture".....lol.

I definitely need a holster because I only have my radio about 1/2 of the time since I worry about losing it off my belt.  And half the time I am not within cell service for pages. IF they work. The county can't get the damn phone paging system to work reliably, which is why I got issued a full-time radio.

I hated having the damn radio on my belt, so bought/borrowed a jacket that had a chest pocket sized for a radio.

These look interesting but did not look at prices.  https://ruralindustries.com.au/communications/uhf-radio-holsters
