Is this a wartime Inland, or one of the new manufactures?

Machismo? Hardly the first word I think of when I think WTA. We're a pretty humble and chilled out bunch.

It was actually a tongue in cheek remark. I should have added [/sarcasm]

I thought so, but in case it wasn't, I thought that putting just:

    " :rotfl

    Machismo?"

Would've had the potential to be offensive, so that's why I overly clarified  ;).

So, being old is okay, that's gonna be my excuse.  Yes I have photos, and can make more.  Since I am old, the camera is fighting me every step, so go along with me as to the quality.  I also am new to the electronic age, so I may screw up in loading them.

To the best of my knowledge;  The rifle is war time, not a reproduction.  It was re-imported from Korea.  I have owned it for over twenty years.  Used it for coyotes and just as a Jeep weapon when exploring (bit more bite than a .22).  It shoots straight, nice and light, and fun.

    I am in Waddell, Arizona.

I will work on getting the photos in.

I am apparently unable to download/attach/send/load (???) whatever it is, any photos.  I had thought I was attaching a group of them, but alas nada.  I am going to try to send just one.  If that works then I guess maybe several "one" attachments later, or just send me an email asking for whatever you want to see. I did attempt to reply to the several questions that were posted, hoping the answers were there.  The only information I had missed was the barrel is stamped "1-44" and it isn't a reproduction.

    and the serial number is........?

I have all the research books on the carbine. With the serial I can tell you a lot. Your price is acceptable, probably to a lot of us. Where are you located? You mentioned J&G. They haven't had any carbines for quite a while. How long ago was this obtained? Look at the barrel near the front sight. Is there any thing stamped there? That's where an import house would have placed their mark. Like this:

Blue Sky was one of the major importers in the sixties

I'm out - I can't afford to buy it for my stepfather, and he isn't willing, though we both agree the price is good.

Oops, I just remembered.  The serial number is 4943XXX.

Serial numbers 4879500 to 5045100 were made by Inland Division of General Motors in April to June, 1944.

Are there any import markings? Look on the barrel near the front sight and take the stock off and look on both sides of the receiver.

The stock is referred to as a "pot belly' stock.

I went into the garage to get a skill saw to remove the stock to check for marks, numbers, etc as to the origin of the rifle, came to my senses and removed the stock.  No hidden numbers.  Clear stamp on the large square portion of the bolt action (?) was D-7161843-7 HSA below.  Stamped around on the top of the barrel, below the front sight is "INLAND MFD DIV
                                                                     GENERAL MOTORS
                                                                              1-44"
Stamped down the barrel on the left side is "BLUE SKY/ARLINGTON VA."
Stamped on the top front of the receiver is "U.S. CARBINE
                                                                     CAL. 30 K-1"
Stamped on the top rear of the receiver (mostly under the sight) is the number "4943XXX", above this number is stamped "INLA---DIV".  I do not have a tool to remove the rear sight to read the hidden charactors, but thinking "ND (space)".

The rifle was purchased by myself in 1989/1990 from J&G Sales.

That 10-round mag looks more like a 15-rounder, unless it's somehow got a block in it limiting it's capacity.
