Firearm Giveaway: All of my guns
« on: April 01, 2017, 12:21:16 AM »
As many of you here know, I have struggled with a declining interest in firearms for some time now.  Not any one type in particular, but just all of them in general.  As my excitement with them has waned, I have tried many ways to recover the spark that they once had for me.  Lately I have bought one new gun after the other, in the hopes that something will make me feel that way again...  Unfortunately, they have not, and I just can not keep this up financially.

I have decided the best way to cut the cord from this nonsense is to divest myself of all of my firearms - every single one.  My NFA weapons are being transferred to the others on my trust, but all of my regular guns?  That is where you come in.

I have been a WTA member for almost six years now, and I have greatly appreciated the community and friendship that it has provided me.  I have always enjoyed participating in the Pay it Forward thread, so this is an extension of that.  Because I appreciate WTA so much, I have decided that this is where all of my non-NFA firearms will find their new homes at.  Since the used firearms market is in the tank, and I don't think my mental state could take the stress of getting pennies on the dollar for them, I am not going to try to sell any.  Rather, I am offering to give away the following firearms to fellow WTA members.  I do not want any compensation, outside of a modest shipping fee.  It will be enough to know that all of them have found good homes.

Here is a list of what I have:  Let's not be greedy... ONE per person, thanks.  PM me with which you would like, and we will make the arrangements.

Baikal Hammer Coach
Benelli SBE2 - LH stock
Beretta PICO - pink frame

Mossberg MVP Patrol .308
Pedersoli black powder SxS shotgun
Remington 700 Police sniper
Remington 783 .243 - Tasco scope
Remington 1100 - 28" barrel
Sig P210 American (I offered this one to my brother - he didn't want it.)
Sig 556 Classic SWAT
S&W 642 - pink boot grips
Walther P38 - Nazi marked, reblued
Walther P99 .40 - Gen 1, green frame
Walther PPK .380 - Interarms

No, I am not going to take pictures of free giveaways.  Though, it would be fun if you all took pictures of your new toys once you get them.  :thumbup1

I certainly have enjoyed owning firearms over the years, and I hope you enjoyed this as much as I have.

I'll take the Mauser Gewehr 98, or if it ends up with someone else first the Interarms Walther PPK.

I'd just like to say thank you for your contribution of knowledge here over the years, your kindness and courtesy in dealing with fellow posters on this board, the empathy in dealing with so many of us for which you're so well known, and your overwhelming generosity...especially in this selfless offer. In fact I'd like to ask all the other members here to join me in a moment of silent contemplation of his warm, kind, and generous nature and thanks to Kaso for being the sort of warm nurturing figure everyone needs to be able to turn to in those trying moments in their lives; rather like a <formerly> well armed cross between Jimmy Stewart, Jack Handy, and Mother Teresa.

In closing I'd just like to say a teary but sincere...

Any other day, I'd be somewhat saddened the read that. Today I'm rolling my eyes and muttering obscenities under my breath because I was planning to pull the same joke and you beat me to it!

Really?  That's awesome.  Has someone else done this before on another board, or did you think it up too?

Either way, yes I did the OP just after midnight, but it was still March 31 to most guys.  I had to be on the road all day today, (I'm in Wilkes-Barre now) and I didn't want to type that list on my phone.

As it stands, that list itself is a secondary joke.  I have never owned any of the firearms listed, and several I have voiced very negative views on.

That and the Württembergische Luger are two guns that if I ever find (and afford) they would never be let go.  Those are not 'weapons' anymore, but museum artifacts.

Yeah, this made me sad to read. You got me pretty good, you jerk  :neener.

I wouldn't have believed it so readily, but you have told me a time or two that your interest in firearms ebbs and flows. I thought you had finally gone off the deep end  :facepalm. Add to the fact that you have also been exceedingly generous by giving away things in the past, and you got me. Very believable prank  :thumbup1.

I thought it up myself, though I imagine it's been done before on other boards (can't say for certain since WTA is the only gun board I belong to). I was say that I was getting rid of my guns, I've re-evaluated my life, I don't need them, I'm selling them with the stipulation they be destroyed, gonna donate the money to the Brady Campaign and the Clinton Foundation, I'm embracing communism, Che Guevera is a personal hero of mine, et cetera and so on and so forth. Basically start off serious enough that y'all would hopefully buy it, but by the end make it pretty clear that either I was pranking y'all or I'd gone off the deep end.

Had you done it, I think I would have seen through it much faster. Kaso made his too believable and all in deadpan fashion  :cool.

Yeah, it was way too much like Kaso so it was very believable  :neener

I actually believed up until I read like the first 3 guns on the list  :cool   Well...no...not really, he's an awesome guy but even he wouldn't give away all his guns.  He's too logical to do that  :cool

That's the thing though. Because he is so logical, if he decided that he was officially done with firearms, I think he could let go like that. No regrets.

And as far as his generosity goes, well, because of him I have my edc squared away. He's given me quite a few holsters and accessories over the years (which sadly, a couple of them I will not be able to keep, so keep an eye on the "pay it forward" thread this summer).

I didn't even know he had an FN five-seven  :scrutiny. I reckon he uses it for gophers wearing kevlar, when he backpacks and can't carry a proper varmint rifle with him :P .

Yeah, LH Benelli,  Pink framed... anything, BP firearms,  HK91, or another PPK...  Those are all dead giveaways to anyone who knows me here.

He doesn't own one.  Or any other item on that list.  Nor has he ever owned any of them, except for a .380 PPK, but that was a S&W.

There is an article in American rifleman as recent as 2016 for the Sig P210 being in current production. So why the heck can I not find it in the Sig catalogue and why does it cost more than my car?

I would be thankful for ANY gun that you would be gracious enough to give to me!  I am a Sig fan and love lever guns but my money doesn't let me own many. Thank you for paying it forward even if I don't get a gun. God bless!
