WTA and its misson statement
« on: September 25, 2014, 09:10:05 PM »
Note: Staff hat is off

I have been taking note in a number of threads, folks are sharing how due to threads, some with links, some with pics, they are tempted to buy a firearm, or firearm accessory.  This even includes Administrators, and other Staff.
Basically it boils down to the gun fund monies ain't there.

WTA Misson Statement does not cover gun fund/accessories monies, and being tempted.. Read the Mission Statement for yourselves, trust me, it ain't there. I have looked time and time again myself.

WTA does offer a helluva lot, compared to other fora, but monies in the cookie jar, for firearms/accessories  ain't one of them.

Carry on.

I have a permanent condition called Gunitist,  I see a gun, talk about a gun, I want the gun.  I hate to sell guns.  This condition leaves my wallet perpetually flat.  I try to resist guns I can not afford feed, or otherwise won't shoot.  I refuse to put guns on credit cards unless I can pay them off in thirty days, this has saved my credit.  WTA has not helped my condition, but it has helped me to talk about the problem.

If I wanted gun fund money's I would find work online, not spend my time here.

I understand there is a twelve step program to help with identifying the difference between having enough ammo and hoarding.   :bash

Welcome to GASA, or Gear Acquisition Syndrome Anonymous...<snip>

While this is not  a prerequisite to being a gun forum member, it does seem to be a common phenomenon.
Meaning a new person registers, and they don't have GASA, in short order they will.
WTA is the only the forum that will share the truth. This and other factors, set us apart from other gun forums.  :)

I mean I have a custom holster from Luke on its way... :clap
And still  I don't  have a holster for a NAA 1 1/8" .22 lr, or gun socks for handguns/rifle, much less gun cases for long guns, especially for scoped ones, or a decent cleaning kit, or...and...

Addiction is not a bad thing, acceptance is the key...that and having monies in the cookie jar for firearm stuff...

I tend to go on binges.   I won't get anything for a few years,   then I will buy 5 M1 Garands in the space of a few months.

my wife kinda jumped me straight to that 12th step without any of the intervening steps.

I can purchase any new gun I want.  I just can't trade off guns anymore.

    I can't trade . . .     :facepalm

of course, that does prevent her from having to listen to me gripe about, "I shoulda kept that . . . . . . "     a year or so down the road.

I am sure I have no idea what that is like.  It's not like I have purchased eleven AR lowers in the last year. :neener

I bought like 10 FAL kits  sold off some of them,  but I still have 4 of them that I need to put together.   I probably should just send them off and get it done.

I wish I had that kind of discipline.  :-\

As it is, I really want to pick up a 4" S&W 19.  Unfortunately (fortunately) the gun budget has been otherwise disposed of.  :P

It's called gun pr0n because it turns us on and we can't afford it.  ;)

Ironic how in life, what ever turns on one, one cannot usually afford it.

I suspect in the near future as they continue to find out more about DNA, and further find out about the  enzyme processes, it will  be revealed  why we have the champagne taste and beer budget syndrome.
