I'm going to go on the record, and say that I really, really enjoyed the auto-update feature on back-button. However, I also now know the reason nothing was marked unread when I'd wander off for a while, then hit the next page in a thread.

Speaking of, that was another thing I really liked that seems to be missing, though it could be browser-crapping-syndrome. None of the new posts have the NEW icon next to them anymore, even though they're obviously going to the new posts in a thread.

Is that an option I could turn on at my end?

Are you talking about on individual posts or on topics? I see them next to topics with new posts, but gotta check to see if it's next to new Posts.

Sorry, talking about the icon next to individual posts inside the thread. I'm seeing the ones next to thread titles in the forum list.

Also... not so much a fan of the updated smileys. I AM glad to see that Panic, Facepalm, Coffee, and Vomit (my four favorites) are unchanged, but the default ones? Meh.

So I don't come off sounding like a Sour Susan, for the record the site is loading a LOT faster for me. Like, easily a quarter of the average loading times.

Honestly I've never noticed.

I'm looking at the default theme in SMF (which has remained unaltered) and don't see what you're referring to. So if it was there before, it must be gone for v2.0.

As for the smileys, a major complaint has always been that the SMF default smiley set sucked. I agree. So I put in a more modern looking set.

As for the others, we let that get way out of control, to the point of it being a total mess. So they were pruned back to a manageable set. Old posts with them still work, they are not available from the post form anymore.

I'd consider changing some items if it turns out to be a big deal among the membership, but that window is closing quickly. As the board ages, we're going to have to set some things in stone. Unfortunately we can't be personalizing for every member. Ya know?

When I click the new button on a thread it doesn't take me to the newest post but to the top of the page the new post is on. I have to scroll downto locate the new post

Is there a setting i should check that I havent seen or has anyone noticed this?

I noticed this on mobile devices and haven't figured it out. Seems fine though in IE and Firefox.

Try the default theme and see if the problem persists. That may help narrow the issue down.

EDIT: Rather, I meant the default SMF theme Curve. Not WTA's default.

Yep. Same problem with Curve. I'm thinking it may have to do with the pretty URL mod? The #new is there at the end of the links, but when the mobile browser gets redirected to the prettified URL the #new is gone.

I think you may be right. That's not the only issue with that mod.

Yeah. I installed a reverter mod from the same author. Makes old links keep working while not changing new ones.

Check that the original issue has not cropped up again.
