That's where I was coming from with my earlier comment.  It's a long way for us, and gas is expensive.  I'd really like to meet some of the folks on this board -- would also like to get the most bang for my buck.  (Sorry, that just slipped out.)

Would like to come, but I'm iffy at the moment.

Well, the range is going to be open regardless, but if you guys want to reschedule it isn't going to hurt anyone's feelings here.

Indeed.  Simms and I would love to meet up with anyone who still wants to come, but if the group decides to try for a different day, there will be no hard feelings.

Nope. Dropped a 35-40 lb box of frozen rotisserie chickens on my finger.

Raptor, I have found weak-handed shooting to be a really incredible piece of training. I even went so far as to buy holsters and mag pouches to support lefty carry, and do so from time to time.

If I recall correctly, he's never fired a gun.  For my part I'm not sure I'd want my first experience with a handgun to be under less than ideal conditions.

How did it come to pass that RAPTOR has not fired a gun? This is, truly, mind boggling for me.

Nah, it's cool. You just caught me on a bad day that one time, Kaso.

Steveracer, short version is that I live in Progressive Left-Wing Paradise, so no one I know in the area shoots, and every time I try and make it to a range, something comes up and I can't make it.

Honestly, the finger itself is in pretty good shape. Problem is the splint that I have to keep on it. It has the finger (middle finger btw) totally immobilized, so I can't really hold onto anything. But as soon as the splint comes off, I'm driving out to a range I found close by and renting either a .38 or a 9mm.

Honestly, I'd start with a .22.  A 9mm or .38 will be pretty mild - once you get used to them, and try something larger.  For a first time shooter...  It's going to feel like a cannon.

That said, maybe we can try to do something in Central PA, this fall, as all of the PA guys (except for Revdisk) have bowed out of this one.

It might be better to post pone it since so many have dropped out. I should be able to do a later date if we decide to reschedule.

Well, shucks.  I was really looking forward to this, but I guess I'm gonna have to cancel, too.  Extra expenses right now, and the gas will hurt.  I really thought about coming on up anyway even if there'll be only a few, but I'd rather try another time when maybe more folks can attend, since it's so far.

That said, if anyone ever gets over this way -- Bristol, straddling the VA/TN border, on I-81 -- let me know.  I can take a couple of guests at a time to Kettlefoot, the local range.

It's dead. I'm out for the 16th. If we want to reschedule, I'm in. I think the location and range was pretty good.

You guys just need to figure out a good date for the rescheduling and we'll get it marked off.

Just in case there are some people on here that don't frequent the Training and Competition section of these forums, we DO have a Crusader training class coming up in June.  It's not quite a WTA Meet and Greet, but several WTAers will be in attendance.  All the details are here:
