Talked to my manager: I now have that weekend off, so I'll be there for sure!

Right now I'm just solo, I might try and get someone to go along and if so then I'll say so.

If someone local can give a couple of names on a decent motels in the area, I would be willing to make some calls and see about getting a group rate for everyone. I know MY group alone would need two rooms, so we might could get a group rate if we booked 6 or more rooms. I'm just not sure how many people are really traveling in for the weekend, rather than just a few hours for the Saturday shoot.
Also if anyone has a recommendation  place to go for dinner, I would be able to call and make a reservation when there is a closer head count.

The range looks to be really close to Martinsburg. Google Maps shows 9 miles from Martinsburg.  There are quite a few hotels and restaurants in Martinsburg. Depending on your taste, there's the usual chains like Applebees, Outback, Crackerbarrel, Shoneys, and the normal fast food joints. Most of these are located just off of I-81. Someone more local will have to recommend a non-chain restaurant.

Hotels like Comfort Inn, Rodeway Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Super 8.

I will just be going up for the morning, lunch and some afternoon shooting, but won't be staying the night since it's only about an hour and a half from my place.

I was just planning on driving up and back that day.  Looks like it's only a couple hours from DC, so that's not too bad.  Leave early, get back late.

    As a heads up.
Looks like we will be bringing the Marlin 1895 SBL and STP mini shoulder Howitzer... and a pair of Crusader Sterlings.
Anyone who wants to bring factory loaded ammo and give them a try is more than welcome to.
Hell, I will have my Delta Elite... so bring some 10mm and try to wear it out too.
come to think of it... I will be bringing my Astra Terminator .44. So yea... over the counter .44 loads and have some fun with the .44 mag snubby.
I dont wanna go broke feeding them, but I want anyone who is curious ot who likes them to be able to give them all a run.

:(  I am going to declare myself officially 'out.'  It sucks to be me, right now, but this way you guys can nail down a list.

Have fun.  If we do this again, in a couple years, I'll try to make that one...

I'm game, if Sarge712 doesn't mind a mildly insane travel partner....... :confused

I'm not absolutely for certain yet, but it's looking more likely I'll be able to make it.

SLM, if you and Sarge don't mind a probably more insane travel partner, I'm on y'all's way (Bristol, VA) and we can carpool up there from here if you want to.  I've got a van, and with the rear seats folded down we can load up a fair amount of shooty stuff.  That said, it's far enough up there I'll probably have to head up on Friday and overnight somewhere.  If you're interested let me know.

If I can make it I'll follow Evil One's generous lead and bring the Ruger SR1911, Marlin 1895 Cowboy .45-70, 4" Redhawk .44 Mag, Marlin 1894 Cowboy .357, and a couple of very special older .38Sp revolvers.  Probably will have a couple of .357s as well.  Same deal applies: bring factory ammo for any of these and shoot all you want.  For those older .38s, standard ammo only -- no +P.  I'll have some extra ammo for the SR1911.

Will add my name to the list soon as I know for sure.

    Errrrr....A van, huh?
If I climb in there, I'm not gonna find blood, hair and a couple of cheap press-on nails from a Ukrainian "exchange student", still on the floor, will I?   :scrutiny
I'd hate to get about half-way up there and have you start looking at me like I'm some kind of pork chop or something.........Errrr!  :panic

Naahhh, I always remove the nails first -- no point in getting my own self injured.  Will try to get all that other evidence stuff cleaned out before the trip.  (But if you start hearing banjos, prepare to jump.)

Sorry, couldn't resist.  I'm a more generic barking moonbat.  More of the bull-goose-loony harmless (mostly) kind.   But bring earplugs -- my jokes are real bad.

I would like to open up a thread in the announcements and intro page to plan a get together in the midwest for members to go shooting, tailgate, and have fun. Make videos, invite famous authors, and enjoy bs'ing with each other.

I'll bring my 2 AR's. 1 with a Spikes tactical .22 upper and the other with a BCM midlength upper. Anyone who wants to shoot them, we can either trade shots with your guns or provide the ammo. The .22 is cheap and easy enough for anyone to give it a mag or two no problem. I'll also bring an Aimpoint micro and a Trijicon TR24 1-4x scope so people can give them a try. I'll bring my G19 and Ruger Mark II also.

I'm a 1 or 2.  One for sure, second possible.

Will be bringing my Sig Sauer.  I might have a rifle by then, but due to some school and work developments in the last week that's become a big maybe.

Looks like I can get the time off, so I'm in.  One of my sons is interested, but still a tentative.

Caryn had mentioned looking into a group rate at local hotels -- any more word on that?  And if anyone along the I-81 corridor from the TN line on up wants to carpool and share gas I'll have room for two more.  Three if my son can't make it.  I'll go up on Friday, and come back on Sat or Sun, depending on activities.

Will also bring a 77/357 if anyone wants to try it.  Bring store-bought ammo and help break it in.

Sorry I have had a really rough couple of weeks. I will get on that tomorrow. My preference is the choice hotel brand, since Jim earns points through them, so I will call them first. Is there a room type need?(IE handicap accessible, smoking/non smoking) If someone could get me a "needed room" count so I can see what they can do, I would be greatly appreciative.
