Virginia/East Coast WTA shooting event!!!
« on: November 02, 2011, 05:01:19 PM »
Myself and Unkle Musket live in Virginia.  I live South of Richmond, VA.  I would love to go shooting with you guys.  I'm available almost any day during the day (I work night shift).  The only rifle range in the area that I know of is about 45 minutes West of where I am in Amelia County.  If anybody wants to go shooting with me and the Good Unkle Musket, let's work something out.

I'd be happy to go, but I probably won't be able to attend any for several months.  My vehicle is still in AZ, and I really don't want to borrow a roommate's car to drive all over the state.  Once I get my vehicle though, I'm all in.  ;D

I could swing through SW PA and pick you up then head down through W.Va.(My old stomping grounds) and into Va. proper. Then reverse course and head back up to drop you off before heading home. About a 14 hour trip one way not counting breaks, the shooting time, and the shining of Unkle Musket's hat holder.

BTW, that is going down to Petersburg Va. Is that close enough?

If I Do get sent somewhere close we HAVE to go send lead downrange.

I may be in depending on when it would happen and at what time.  Richmond is about 3.5 hours straight north of me up I-95.

Well, to be honest I will have to take a Friday and Monday off to make it a long weekend.
But I'll bring my Mossberg, SA XD .45, the Taurus CIA 850, 'Maggie', Marlinn .22lr always fun to shoot, and my little .380. Plus ammo.
But I need 2 weeks notice to see if I can get the time off.

That's ok, I'll be hunting Bambi as of 12Nov2011 through the next week.
I think spring of 2012 sounds good though.

Well, as I'll be hauling a bunch of stuff with me (I've been storing it at my parents place, but they want to downsize next spring so I need to move it), I kinda need to be there.  But, and we'd talked about this before, if you wanted to head east we could pull a road trip in the spring.  Depending on the route we took and how much time we had, might be able to swing past a couple of WTA members along the way.

I'm near Yorktown. Depending on when I might be able to go with. I'm a member of the local club (Lafayette Gun Club) but it only goes out to 100 yards and is...how shall I say... somewhat uptight.

We could do that.  Hit me up when you have some firm plans and I'll see about getting the time.

I'm smack-dab in the middle of the Eastern Panhandle of WV on I-81.  I think a meet-up shoot would be great for those of us on the East Coast!  We're having some nice weather now, but I'm completely tied up with my weekends until after Christmas because I'm helping out with our Christmas production at church.  I could do Spring, though, and that'd be an awesome excuse for a nice long motorcycle ride.  If you all meet up anyway, be sure to take pics!

I live in VA Beach, and I could meet you fine folks someplace. I don't have any rifles, but I can bring a basketfull of revolvers for folks to shoot.

Live in right outside of DC. So there is a good chance I would be down for something.

My brother lives in North Charleston, SC.
So I am up for a quick visit to him for a shooting event anywhere that way.

I live in Northern Virginia and would be down for this - but probably not until after the holiday (and hunting) season.

Hmmm...so it sounds like after the holidays maybe in the spring would be a good time?

I'll vote for that.  I'm way out here in the western end of VA, and just learned I'm going to have to spend nearly all of Dec in the frozen north in a training class.

Need as much advance notice as I can get to be able to travel over your way, but I'll do it if I can.  Would love to meet some WTA compatrioids face-to-face.  ('course, y'all might not enjoy the vice versa so much.)

Spring sounds good to me. Sometime in the summer would work too. Really, I just need enough time to save up the $$$ for the trip. And I'll almost certainly be down in VA several times over the summer; Little Brother's down there for school so I'll be visiting him, and one of Mama Raptor's friends lives down there and we're probably going to visit her family too.

Kinda OT, but I figure it bears mentioning: said friend and her husband were in town a while back for some school reunion, and they were both shocked and appalled that not only does the Raptor Clan not own any guns, but Mama and Papa Raptor hadn't even had the common sense to teach their children to shoot. Friend's husband is a LEO and apparently has quite an extensive gun collection, so he's going to teach me how to shoot when we visit them (assuming I don't learn/teach myself before then). Needless to say, I'm quite excited for that trip.

Sometime after the New Year works best for me as well.  Around February or so I'll probably be buying something new as well, so that will work out.
