I know how you feel, man. Probably half the people I meet butcher my last name, and it isn't even that hard to pronounce.

And apologies for inflicting that song upon you.

    Hello from sunny snowy MN,

Actually heard/read/learned about this joint either from following the MadOgre (not darting, no no Ogres do not dart), Armed American Radio, or the Uprising Series (waiting for Russia BTW), not sure where first.

I'm an ex rotorhead, bartender, network/router/firewall jock, that finally ended up in the VoIP world running a corp IP voice setup for a company in the Twin Cities.  Originally from north western WI, spent 6 years or so in UT on the Hill turning wrenches on a pair of "Jollies" (Sikorsky HH-53C, damn fine HELO), moved back to the midwest in 1990,  not exactly sure why, really liked UT, did the techy thing and been doing this voice/data gig for the last... too many... years.

I like Jack Daniels (the bourbon, not the guy, although I am sure he was a very fine man, he did after all give us a most excellent way of killing brain cells) knives, firearms, motorcycles, classic cars, aircraft and long walks in the park... er, i mean drinking beer around a fire pit.

I've got a couple of Harleys and a 26yr old Yamaha FJ1200 (picked that up in '09 with 7k on it, excellent shape for an '86).  The Wife and I try and take a couple of trips a year, although that has slowed down a bit in the last couple years.  Rode out to Nova Scotia a few years back, great trip, 5500+ miles in 14 days (we hung out in Montreal and Halifax a couple extra days).  Anyone out here in the TC area, let me know, we can hook up and do some scootin'.

I try to get to  the range when I can but I made me a kid this year :panic so that has petered out in the recent months.  I would like to get into some comps next year though, maybe 3gun, IDPA, IPSC, Bullseye, etc just not sure which way to go.  I am also looking at reloading, a while back i got a deal on 2 boxes of misc reloading gear (ended up with 17 RCBS 3 Die sets, 7 single stage presses and a crap ton of misc pieces parts i have no idea what to do with - not bad for $50) and just picked up a Dillon 550 and a Lyman furnace not too long ago.  So... I'll probably be hitting you guys up for tips/tricks and advice on some of that as i have no clue what i am doing yet.

Alright alright, that is probably more than anyone cared to read, :shocked but I don't get on a lot of forums and the Wife just don't pay much attention to me anymore, so what the hell.  :facepalm

    Thanks for having me.

No, unfortunately it's not. But one of it's co-founders is now a NYT Bestselling author.

I've checked stuff out on this site for a while and have been reading the Ogre for a while. Finally registered. I'm in TX been shooting and reloading for a while, but still learning. Glad to be a part of the group.

IllinoisThere’s a story about a turtle and a scorpion. Scorpion is stranded on a river bank. Turtle sees this and asks Scorpion to get on his back and he’ll take him across the river. Scorpion gets on Turtle’s back and they go into the river. When they’re about halfway across, Scorpion stings Turtle. As Turtle is sinking, knowing they’re both going to die, he asks Scorpion "Why did you sting me, we’re both going to die?" and Scorpion says "It’s not my fault; it’s what I am."
