I came here by a somewhat circuitous route. I had dropped by MadOgre a few times over the last few years but never really went farther than that. I currently live about five hours away from my little lady and I drive down to see her every weekend and the radio in Central California is...not good. So I started listening to podcasts to pass the time. One evening, I heard you talking with Daniel Shaw over on Gunfighter Cast and decided to come take a look. I'm glad I did because this place is pretty cool.

I found the site on my phone using Tapatalk, many sites I visit now use it, so I can check on things when I'm away from my PC.

It's o.k. that you might not remember.  I contacted you through your blog recently regarding your Lucid HD7 review and posts there, saw that you were moving to NC, and we exchanged an email.  I suggested a place to get good BBQ in Memphis on your journey, if you were passing through.  In your reply, you graciously  suggested I check out this board.  You probably get hundreds of those contacts.  In the hustle and bustle of your move, I was not even a blip on your radar screen.  I hate moving.   Went through that about 4 years ago.  I still have stuff in boxes that I have not opened and things I'm looking for that I can't find.   And I find myself looking for stuff in all the wrong places, even after this much time.

But, thanks for point me to this board.  It's a great place that seems mostly immune of the snobbery and elitism of some of the other "gun group" boards I have visited or joined.

For my second post, I'll add here how I came across We The Armed.

Another great forum, thegreatmodel8.remingtonsociety.com, is a favorite place - and after reading that a regular there mentioned this site, I had to give it a try.
    His handle is "mattitude" FYI.

OK, any of yall into old Remington 8's and 81's should visit "our homeplace" too!

    Thanks for listening

I heard about this place from Larry Correia and a couple of MHI fans. I signed up because I heard that there was MHI fanfic here.

Yeah, it's in the creative writing section.   A lot of the people around here are aspiring (or published in a few cases!) authors.

Yeah, I dabble with writing and I have a few stories written. A lot of what I write centers around fast cars, fast women and heavy firepower.

Right now some of my fellow MHI fans are encouraging me to write a MHI version of the Bride of Frankenstein. I can't say much right now but it's a fan spin off of Larry's latest book and can be summed up as The Bride versus the Condition.

The guys at arizonagunowners.com told me that I should check out this forum because many of your community members would be interested in our magazine Trucks & Guns Magazine. I am excited to check this forum.

Glad you stopped by over here.   :thumbup1    Lots of good stuff here - especially the archived material if you're looking for good writers to help fill out your content.

I was going through Amazon, looking for zombie apocalypse stories and stumbled across Uprising, I went through the preview it had and saw the name of the site and decided to visit, skulked around for a year and decided to join in.
