Alright guys once in a while I finish up a rig or set that I just love, typically they are for 1911's and that's probably something to do with it. But this is a bomber brown elephant full coverage rig for a 1911 with matching mag carrier and belt with matching trim. I didn't get a good pic of the belt but here is the rest, I really would keep this one;)

Take care!

Well here is one I finished up this morning and I always have a hard time with pictures for shoulder rigs. So I decided to try something different, originally I was going to drive over to my dad's and have him model the rig but he's not feeling well today and since no one else is here it was plan B;) So I went outside the shop and around here looking for something that would make an interesting backdrop that I could hang the holster and mag carrier from, and I saw my old Chevy tailgate off my work/shop truck leaning against this tree and decided to give it a shot. I like the look but I'm curious what you guys think if it's too busy or color clashing etc.

That all said the holster is the main reason for the post;) Full shark coverage in brown, with full leather lining for a Sig 1911 Carry, everything is pretty much top end and it's very tempting to build one of these for myself since this hide is my favorite personally;) But that said I won't wear a shoulder rig enough to make it worthwhile so no fancy shoulder rig for me;)

    Take care!

    Luke

(Oh and that's my officers 1911 in there for the pic, I didn't want my 5in. hanging out the end and I don't have anything closer to length in a real gun etc for the pictures. Though I do need a commander length gun so I have one of each common size 1911;)

I'm always trying to improve that part too;) After taking a bunch of these on white, I decided I'm going to change that up, actually I changed this rig after posting and I'll be updating it with a new version. The only part I didn't care for on this rig was the center of the harness, didn't look good enough IMHO;) So I built one out of shark with thin cowhide behind it and replaced the one you see with one that matches the holster and mag carrier and ties the whole look together even more. The trouble is that it's raining and I can't go out and take a replacement picture;)

Well I replaced the image, you may have to refresh your browser to see the new version, but basically I changed out the center of the harness to match the rest of the rig I think it ties it together just a little bit more;)

Luke, outstanding looking rig. I am thinking I need a shoulder rig from you and this may have done it for me. The latest addition to my Adams collection, crossroads for my Kimber, is awesome as well. I alternate bet0ween the IWB and OWB, both yours by the way, daily depending on how I dress for the day. I use sport coats almost every day and a shoulder rig is an option when it's not over 75 degrees. Love the new holster Luke, you're the master.

    Thank you.

Alrighty guys I had another crazy shoulder holster build I've been working on, actually a big exotic order two Crossroads rigs, a shoulder rig, a pocket holster all matching ostrich leg and full quill. Needless to say I've been working on this order for a while now I always seem to underestimate how much time I can sink in a big holster setup;) Anyhow I finished the shoulder rig this morning, the OWB and pocket rigs have been done for a week or two and I got a chance to take pictures of this one. I took some of the ideas from the shark rig above but then changed things up some.

Oh and a bit of an odd gun or at least uncommon gun, FN Five-Seven, really an odd shaped gun to design and build a holster for. I don't think I can recall anything else I've built that was this different but the depth of the chamber, and the way it's proportioned really was a challenge to get everything right compared to all the normal guns I build out.

    Take care!

Actually I just finished editing the other 3 pieces pics so here they are too:

Awesome rigs all around but I will be happy to get back to making a few less stressful right handed black holsters for a few days;)

Oh and I should mention the "pocket" holster is actually for use in a purse, so that's why it's got ostrich at the bottom rather than shark. It wouldn't grip in the pocket, but it also won't hang up on things in her purse. Either way it was a special request type of deal anyways;)

And on top of the odd gun, it's a lefty setup as well.

(Not dissing on lefties.  I am one.  Kinda.  Sometimes.  Depending on what I'm doing.)

Yep everything and let me tell ya I don't do that many lefty rigs, way less than the percentage you'd expect. So it was all backwards and weird :neener My brother is a lefty and that's why he doesn't get more holsters, if he was a righty he'd get my run off of extra 1911 holsters that I always have around. But since i never prototype in left handed he always only gets purpose built rigs;)

Well guys and gals, finished one for a good friend of mine's wife this morning that I really liked. It's for an officers 1911 just like the one on my hip right now, now I want a copy of it for myself;) However I don't need one since I've got the same rig in full shark, I just really like the look of the croc tail on this rig along with the color and contrast.

Thanks for the compliments as always guys;) I'm always trying to make a better holster, sometimes it's not as apparent on the plain rigs as the improvements on the exotic rigs and new hides;)

Overall though I really like this rig, tempting to build another version of it for myself but I don't have the time;)

While I was at the cabin for the weekend, it arrived.. All I can say is pictures do not do it justice. The rig is exactly what I need. I spend a lot of time in my car or sitting at my desk. While the Texas holsters I use are comfortable, a shoulder rig is much more so. I am breaking it in right now it was a tight fit. Used the plastic bag trick and that seems to have done the trick. I'am looking forward to put this in to day to day use very soon. Thank you again for the fine job, I got rid of two other should rigs yesterday already to a friend that was looking for one for his Kimber.
