SHOW OFF THREAD
« on: February 09, 2011, 09:40:19 PM »
So after making allot of posts here to show off rigs I thought hey, I'm going to just create a single thread that will show off what I've been up to lately. I'll try to update it with new fancy holsters and just some new models etc. But feel free to subscribe to the thread so you can see any updates that I do;) To start I'll just put up some of the rigs that I've done over the last year, some you guys have seen some you haven't:)

Take care!

Luke

Just finished up this set, it's going out the door today, all freaking hand stitched;) My arms and back certainly remember the times when I was hand stitching everything, and the blisters on my hands today reminded me how much I love my sewing machine ;D But apparently I can still hand stitch these things ;D

That dual-tone/contrasty-thingy you've got going on really works a treat.

Yeah once I started working with that I've found I really like the double exotics, each time I build one it's always allot of work but the end results I really enjoy ;D

One of these days I need to build another double for myself to mail off to Oleg for photo's but I haven't nailed down what I want to do yet, gotta be something different;)

    Forgive my ignorance,

But "Crossroads" is meant for OC while the "Texas" rig is meant for CCW?

Wearing outside the waistband doesn't necessarily mean open carry.

Now back to the holster pr0n.

Agreed;) I'm actually concealing my full sized 1911 OWB in a crossroads rig today under a fairly long t-shirt. Just felt like an OWB today;) Granted my mags are actually IWB, and I'm running my PF9 in my pocket and P3AT in ankle, but the primary is OWB:)

I was actually going to ask about a hybrid design. Seems like there's enough meat on the Texas design that a couple slots could be cut between the gun and clips on both sides and it could perform double duty. The only thing I don't like about my Texas rig is that when I travel to OC states, I can't show off.

Well let's just say it's not quite a redesign it's another idea I had a couple weeks back that I'm ironing out the details on. So far it's working great, and it's fairly simple to implement;) I'll probably have more news in the next few weeks.

    Take care!

Dayum! Luke, that snakeskin Switchback is drop-dead gorgeous! Hands-down the most beautiful holster I've seen in a long, long time. When I finally get my first handgun, I'm going to order my holster the same way.

I thought this was one of the best looking rigs that I've built out, well it's tough because I really do love most of the exotics that I build but this one with the python really was different. I like doing things that are off the path of what I've done before but I also go back and look at other rigs that I've built out and remember how much I like them too;) You should see how tough it is for me to decide what to build for my own rigs;) This one is actually my wife's rig, I built it out for sending off to Oleg Volk to take some pictures of, so once I get the last couple details worked out, and test it out some more, it's going to go get fancy pictures taken:) Oh I should mention I've got a fair number of other exotics coming in shortly, some new stuff and new colors etc. So there will be some new things coming that haven't been seen from me before;) Also should note, we can do something in this same vein with any of the rigs, Texas/Crossroads/Switchback, so you're not tied just to the Switchback, though if your looking for something to carry crossdraw or appendix then of course I would;)

Thanks sir;) If I'm honest the Python should be lighter color but it took some of the chemical dip and turned that darker brown color rather than the lighter color it started. But that said, my wife likes the brown better than the other color :shrug So I guess I can't be too upset and I love the look now as well, I do think however I would have still preferred the look that I had in my head with the other color scheme. That said though, natural materials etc and sometimes you end up with unexpected results and sometimes those mistakes make it better ;D

    Take care guys!

Got the grips in from the material you supplied to the gripmaker.  I really like having the matching grips instead of trying to match em in hopes they don't contrast.  I wanted something as worthy as the holsters.  Thank you for supplying the material.  They feel really different.  I like the smoothness of em yet some ridges from the scales.  It's been a great experience. :cool
