Mmmm... I dunno.  Fundamentalist-anything really doesn't have good connotations associated with it.

Buuuut, turning an insult into a compliment is rarely a bad thing.

Presumably, a Gundamentalist is one that subscribes to the Gundamentals? That's, what? Cooper's Four Rules, the revered sainthood of John Moses Browning, and abstinence from such perversions as point shooting? Major sacraments to include baptism in Hoppes No. 9 and anointing with CLP, I suppose.

A friend told me a while back that all I do is shoot and read about guns on the internet. I told him that I have knowledge and a skill set that is, if nothing else, tons of fun but just may also be needed to save my life someday. He only has memories of television and video games. If that makes me a gundamentalist or gun nut or whatever, so be it. I just prefer "prepared citizen".

Words are more powerful than bullets so unregulated semantic drive-bys are the core of our troubles today.  The few revisionists who seek to control us - play word games with 2-A trying to deny the complete simplicity of "shall not be infringed" by twisting the historical context of the words around it using modern evolutions of the words or advancing inane nirvana scenarios where less freedom equals more safety.  Every time we lose freedom in this country it has not been taken - but far too willingly surrendered by manipulated, under informed, or ignorant citizens! 

• Illegal gangster violence of the 20-30's was the excuse for The National Firearms Act now utilized to limit legal weapon ownership by sane honest citizens
• Two illegal assassinations was part of the excuse for the '68 Gun Control Act
• Take the once floundering Patriot Act then add in some anthrax (with an investigation that vanished) and the opposition to surrendering freedom becomes a rush to surrender it.

I have no foil hat (I use all my foil for grilling onions and peppers) and most of (perhaps all) the events may be pure coincidence but the fact remains the events were twisted by "clever" speakers with a honest yet misguided or purposefully deceptive agenda(s).  Every restriction to sane honest citizens' 2A Rights did not stem from abuses by sane honest citizens but from abuses by criminals who already chose to ignore the rule of law and society.

Gundamentalist  = the base foundation belief that personal defense and democracy is protected when honest citizens have the means to do so.

Liberal = Believes in individual rights, less government, and protecting democratic principles (unlike the more modern twisting by a few elected elites who think they know best for everyone claim to be liberal and force their ideas on us.)

I guess that makes me a Liberal Gunementalist since I think any sane honest citizen has a 2A Right to own any type of weapon they choose to without being "infringed" by taxation, regulation, or outright prohibition.   I am sure that family in Pensacola, Florida family that was slaughtered by 7 men last summer could have used an automatic weapon or two and remained fully within the intent and letter of the un-infringed original Second Amendment, not harmed society, and in fact assisted in maintaining the rule of law by elimination of 7 criminals and the preservation of an honest contributing family!
